EDUCATION
Tom has been involved in the real estate and business community for all of his adult life. He graduated with a BS in real estate and finance from Indiana University where he studied under the founder of the Indiana University Real Estate Department - George Bloom. He received his MBA from Butler University in 1995. He currently is an adjunct professor of real estate at Butler, and was also an adjunct professor of graduate accounting at Indiana Wesleyan University.
EMPLOYMENT
Tom spent five years as a mortgage and commercial loan officer at the former Merchants National Bank. He was Chief Financial Officer for 25 years of the Kite Group, real estate developers and contractors. He then joined the Fort Harrison Reuse Authority as Treasurer of the Board of Directors and as manager of development. He currently is the Senior Portfolio Manager of Fifth-Third Bank. He also is Owner and Principal Broker of Greentree Real Estate Group.
COMMUNITY
Tom has served on the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis Board of Directors for over 30 years. He is Past Chairman of the Board as well as the State of Indiana Association of YMCA's. He currently serves on the National Board of the YMCA of the USA.
Presently, he is chairman of the Marion County Wellfield Education Corporation - a corporation created by the City of Indianapolis to protect our valuable groundwater resource while not discouraging economic development.
He is past chairman of the City of Lawrence's Independence Day Festival and Board Member Emeritus of the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce. He is the President of the City of Lawrence Economic Development Commission.
He has served as Chairman of the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce's Economic Development Committee. He is founder, Past President and current board member of the 38th & Shadland Community Improvement Association. He is Past President and board member of his neighborhood association.
REAL ESTATE
In his real estate career, Tom has been involved in all aspects of the industry. He has been involved in the finance, sale or development of every size project from 300,000 square foot office building to single family homes. He has been involved in retail, residential, commerical land development and residential sales.
If it has happened in real estate, Tom has probably seen it and he has the experience and expertise to help you make sense out of the complex world of real estate.
